One of the most significant historical and intercultural features of Odesa is its unique architecture. Odesa is one of the three cities of Ukraine with the largest number of objects of cultural and historical value. In general, more than a thousand monuments in the city have the status of objects of cultural heritage. In 2023 the Historical center of the port city of Odesa was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Guests of Odesa must visit the pearl of architecture, the world-famous Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, take a walk along Primorsky Boulevard, Deribasivska street, Passage, walk up the famous Potemkin Stairs and see Istanbul and Greek parks.

Odesa Opera

Ever since its construction, the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet has been called “prima” among all the attractions of the world’s cultural heritage. The theater has repeatedly topped popular world and national ratings; the authoritative magazine Forbes included the building of the Opera in the list of 11 most interesting sights of Eastern Europe. Recently, the theater, as part of the “Historical Center of the Port City of Odesa”, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The theater’s modern repertoire includes more than 80 performances: world masterpieces of opera and ballet, works by domestic authors and exclusive concert programs; this is the international arts festival “Velvet Season at the Odesa Opera”, which in 7 years has united twelve countries.

The Odesa catacombs

A famous visiting card in Odesa is the legendary catacombs, in which many secrets remain. Odesa residents and tourists like to go on excursions, because the network of underground passages causes considerable interest. The Odesa catacombs are the largest in the World. They are about 3000 kilometers long.  Underground excursion in the museum «Secrets of underground Odesa» lasts 2,5 hours. There are a lot of exhibitions and installations in the museum. Numerous expositions are devoted to different pages of the history of the catacombs and their researches.

Shabo Wine Culture Center

Shabo Wine Culture Center was established in 2009. The Center is located 70 km from Odesa. Its goal is to give everyone the opportunity to see personally where noble drinks are made, and to feel like being a part of Ukrainian winemaking. The bicentennial Swiss cellars, contemporary art pieces, museums, cinemas, a musical fountain, production and professional tastings of wines that have been conquering the world: this is a whole range of experiences and tastes, which are available here.

Danube Delta

Odesa is a hub for journeys to the Danube Delta, the second-biggest river delta in Europe. The distance between Odesa and the Delta is approximately 200 km. The Ukrainian towns at the Danube are starting points for excursions into the Delta. Nature tours and ecotourism are developed in the region. The most significant town in the Ukrainian Danube Delta is Vilkovo city. During excursion in this nice city you will see its famous sights and unique channels, taste local traditional food and wine Novak, have an exciting boat trip to Danube Delta and will see its unique fauna and flora. The area is a true mecca for nature lovers. Activities such as bird watching and photo safaris are particularly popular.
